      Ms. Yangdey was born and brought up in Thailand. After completing her education from Thailand, presently she works in one of the offices in Bhutan. Her father is from Lhuentsi and mother from Zhemgang. Will she be considered as the citizenship of Bhutan? Why?

 

     Case Study 2:

    Miss Kanchan Kumari’s father is from Bihar in India and had been working in a Saloon in Bhutan for the last 20 years as a hairstylists. Her mother is from Bumthang. Kanchan has two siblings who goes to school in Motithang Higher Secondary School. She will complete Class XII this year. Is Kanchan a lawful citizen of Bhutan? Why?

     Kanchan Kumari’s father wanted to have a citizenship of Bhutan so that his children can become a lawful citizen of Bhutan. Under which category will her father be eligible in applying the citizenship according to Citizenship Act of Bhutan? 

 

     Case Study 4:

      Boku Thapa’s grandparents has migrated into the country in 1925 and had been living in Kanglung in Trashigang since then. Boku’s father and mother were born in Bhutan. Is Boku Thapa the lawful citizen of Bhutan?  Why?

      Mr. John from Switzerland who is married to a Bhutanese, had been working in Bhutan for the last 15 years and recently he is planning to apply for the citizenship of Bhutan. What conditions should Mr. John fulfill in order to apply for the Bhutanese citizenship?
